In a joint letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, opposition leaders from both houses have alleged that large sums collected for the construction of the Ram temple have gone missing. Senior Congress figures, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, labelled the disappearance as a betrayal of the sentiments of the Hindu majority.
The letter also cites the forced admission of activist Sonam Wangchuk to a medical facility against her will, and the recent leak of the NIT‑UG examination paper, which allegedly contributed to a spate of student suicides. The opposition demands that the government display "sensitivity" and bring these issues before the legislature for transparent debate.
