Operation Kagar Success Leads to Infrastructure Boost in Border Region

Hyderabad – Director General of Police C.V. Anand inspected the border area of Karegutta on Monday, a place that was once a stronghold of Maoist activity, and raised the Indian flag as a sign of renewed stability.

The DGP examined road‑construction projects that are linking the remote forest zone with neighboring districts. A white dove was released to symbolize the peace that has settled after decades of insurgency.

Anand highlighted the achievements of "Operation Kagar," a joint effort by Telangana police, Greyhounds, Special Police Force, CRPF, Cobra Unit and Chhattisgarh police. The operation forced about 700 militants to lay down arms, eliminated several senior leaders and pushed most remaining cadres back into mainstream society.

The government is now focusing on rehabilitation, providing surrendered militants with financial aid, land allocation and job prospects, while keeping a close watch on their reintegration.

Key infrastructure projects are underway: the coal‑transport road from Pamuru to Chalamadava is complete, and a BT road will soon be laid, followed by metal surfacing. Enhanced electricity, mobile connectivity and other basic amenities are planned to promote tourism and improve the quality of life for locals.

The DGP also distributed essential supplies to families of former insurgents near Pamuru camp, assuring them of continuous government assistance.
