One Missing Traveller Found Safe Amid Nepal Flood Crisis, 22 Still Unaccounted

In the wake of Nepal's severe flooding, officials have confirmed that one of the 22 missing Telangana nationals is now safe.

The individual, a resident of Ranga Reddy district who was on a Kailash‑Manasarovar pilgrimage, re‑established contact with his relatives after being located.

The state’s rescue helpline, operating from the Telangana building in New Delhi and the Hyderabad Secretariat, continues to receive between 80 and 100 calls daily, seeking information on the remaining missing persons.

Preliminary investigations have tied 20 cases to a total of 23 people – six locals and seventeen NRIs from Telangana.

The other 22 travelers were last seen in the Nepal‑Tibet border zones around Rasuwa, Rasuwagadi and Gyirong, areas severely affected by the floods.

Telangana’s Chief Minister’s office, the state secretariat, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Embassy and other relevant agencies are maintaining a coordinated effort to locate the missing, ensure their safety and provide necessary support.

The Resident Commissioner of the Telangana House in New Delhi is monitoring the response and reviewing the coordination mechanisms.
