Omar Abdullah and Nidhi Raazdan Get Married, Post Photo Online
Jammu, October 31: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has married journalist Nidhi Raazdan. He shared news of the wedding on social media on Saturday.
Omar Abdullah posted a picture of the two together on Instagram, captioned "A new journey began from yesterday." The post tags Nidhi Raazdan. He also confirmed the marriage on X.
The announcement opens a new chapter in Omar Abdullah's life. He informed his fans and supporters about it one day after the wedding.
The move comes roughly three months after the Supreme Court accepted the mutual consent divorce between Omar Abdullah and his estranged wife, Payal Abdullah.
On July 31, 2026, the Supreme Court ordered the end of Omar Abdullah and Payal Abdullah's marriage. In court, both sides said they had agreed to dissolve the marriage by mutual consent and close all pending disputes. They also agreed to withdraw the cases filed against each other.
The dispute reached the apex court when Omar Abdullah challenged a Delhi High Court ruling that had refused to grant him a divorce. At the hearing, the couple filed a joint petition under Article 142 of the Constitution, requesting dissolution of marriage by mutual consent. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for the couple, told the court that they had resolved their differences and agreed to end all disputes.
The couple married in 1994 after meeting while working at the Oberoi hotel in Delhi. They have two sons, Zahir and Zameer. They had lived separately since 2009, and Omar Abdullah publicly acknowledged the separation in 2011. The Supreme Court had previously noted that the two had been living apart for a long period.
