Om Birla, JP Nadda and State Chiefs Wish Nationwide Joy on Shravan’s First Monday
The first Monday of Shravan was celebrated with an outpouring of good wishes from India's political leadership on July 3. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced on X that the day symbolizes devotion to Lord Shiva, inner cleansing, disciplined living and the spread of positive energy.
Union Health Minister J P Nadda extended his heartfelt wishes, hoping that Mahadev’s boundless mercy would bring happiness, wealth, excellent health, serenity and spiritual vigor to every devotee. He urged people to incorporate environmental care, cleanliness drives, community service and humane values into everyday life.
Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister Yogi Adityanath also sent a prayer, seeking Shiva’s infinite grace to envelop the whole creation with happiness, prosperity and collective well‑being. Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta wished that each individual’s life become "Shiv‑rich" and that the nation moves forward on a glorious trajectory.
Bihar chief minister Samrat Chaudhary highlighted the day as a divine opportunity for faith, inner strength and spiritual growth, while Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma prayed for peace, health, wealth and a surge of positive energy in every household.
Together, the leaders reiterated that Shravan’s first Monday is an invitation to live with humility, patience, reverence for nature and a commitment to the welfare of all.
