National Testing Agency Issues Final Keys After Re‑checking UGC NET Subjects

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the definitive answer keys for the English, Commerce and Sociology papers of the UGC NET June 2026 test. The re‑checking exercise was held on September 9 (English and Commerce) and September 10 (Sociology) at designated centers nationwide.

English candidates wrote the paper in the first shift of September 9, commencing at 9 a.m. and concluding at midday. Commerce candidates sat for their exam in the second shift on the same day, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sociology was re‑tested the next day, again in the 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. window.

Following a surge of complaints about inaccuracies in the original question sets, NTA formed an investigative panel. The panel’s findings led to the decision to conduct a clean‑slate examination for the three subjects, ensuring a fair assessment environment.

The agency emphasized that no extra charges were levied on candidates and that the re‑examination will not impact the overall seat allotment. While the UGC NET exam covered 87 subjects in total, only the three mentioned required a redo; the other 84 subjects proceeded as per the original schedule.
