North-East Community’s Safety in Delhi Questioned After Violent Death of Guitarist C. Vikram Singh

The murder of celebrated Manipuri guitarist C. Vikram Singh has triggered a wave of anxiety among Delhi’s North‑East population. On Monday morning, the 54‑year‑old musician was fatally assaulted outside his apartment in the Kilokri colony after confronting a noisy group of delivery workers.

Following the incident, Rahul Gandhi met with Singh’s brother in the Lok Sabha, extending his deepest sympathies and vowing to keep the family’s demand for justice at the forefront of parliamentary discourse. Gandhi questioned the effectiveness of the Home Ministry and Delhi Police in safeguarding vulnerable communities.

According to early police findings, Singh’s request for the assailants to quiet down and refrain from drinking led to a violent outburst. The culprits struck him repeatedly, causing lethal injuries. Seven adults and one juvenile have been arrested so far.
