Stern Action in Noida: Grievance Lapses Lead to Five Suspensions
Police in the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate have issued a clear message that negligence in public grievance redressal will not be tolerated. Under the direction of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, five sub-inspectors have been suspended immediately for rising public complaints, poor listening, delayed disposal and increasing dissatisfaction among complainants.
Departmental inquiries have been ordered against all five suspended officers. The department says the step is aimed at ensuring that complaints are resolved promptly and well, and at fixing responsibility across the police system.
The suspended officers are Ajit Singh of the Morna chowki under Sector-24 police station, Akshay Pratap of the Sector-12/22 chowki, Birjalal of the RR Site chowki under Jewar police station, Kapil Pandey of the Kasba Surajpur chowki and Anil Kumar of the Kachehri Surajpur chowki, the last two under Surajpur police station. Officials said complaints against them included failure to address grievances properly and unnecessary delay in resolution.
The probe does not stop there. Officials of ACP-2 Noida, ACP-2 Greater Noida and ACP-4 Greater Noida are under inquiry for not giving grievance handling the attention it requires. Preliminary inquiries have also been opened against inspectors of Sector-113, Beta-2 and Dadri police stations.
A long list of chowki incharges is also under scrutiny. These include Sadarpur chowki of Sector-39, NIB chowki of Sector-58, Jhundpura/Golchakkar chowki of Phase-1, and Mamura/Garhi Chaukhandi chowki of Phase-3. Inquiries also cover the H Block/Bahlolpur chowki of Sector-63, several chowkis under Bisrakh police station including Gaur City-1/2, Nirala and Cherry County, and the Ehchar/Alpha chowki under Beta-2.
In Dadri, the Kasba Dadri, Railway Road and Ajaibpur chowkis are under inquiry, along with the Halka-2 and Halka-3 incharges of Knowledge Park police station. Officers have also been warned against weak performance in curbing theft, vehicle theft and snatching. The commissionerate has said that any lapse found will attract strict departmental action.
