Noida Police Arrest Man Who Scouted Vacant Homes While Delivering
Noida, October 27
Sector-39 police in Gautam Buddh Nagar have taken into custody a youth accused of committing thefts in vacant and locked homes. The man was working as a delivery boy, and police allege he used those visits to study which houses were empty.
Investigators say the suspect would examine vacant properties and homes with external locks during deliveries. Once he found a suitable moment, he would carry out the theft.
The Arrest
The accused, 26-year-old Abhishek, son of Ashok Singh, was arrested on October 27 from the service road outside E-Block Park, beyond Gate No. 16 in Sector-41, Noida. During the arrest, police seized jewellery related to the theft case and a sum of cash.
Police are now looking into additional facts connected with the matter.
Theft Linked to Sector-41 House
Police say Abhishek targeted a vacant house in Sector-41 roughly two weeks before his arrest. Cash and jewellery were taken from the house during that incident.
The jewellery found with him is linked to this theft. The two lakh rupees recovered were obtained from selling the stolen ornaments.
Sale of Ornaments and Seized Goods
During interrogation, the accused reportedly said he sold the jewellery to a passerby, citing his financial hardship. The money received was later found in the scooty, from which two lakh rupees were recovered.
Along with the cash, police seized two pairs of white metal anklets, two chutki and two small kadas. The Jupiter scooty used in the crime has also been recovered.
