No Injuries Reported as Alliance Air Plane’s Tire Explodes on Runway

An Alliance Air flight arriving from Delhi experienced a tire explosion on the runway of Bilaspur Airport on August 28. The left‑hand wheel gave way just after touchdown, creating a loud bang and a brief flash of fire that caused panic among the 41 occupants.

The pilot’s quick reaction kept the aircraft on the ground without veering off the runway. Emergency crews arrived within minutes, and the cabin crew led a calm evacuation, moving passengers to ground transport without any reported injuries.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic for a few moments, with sparks and a small blaze visible near the damaged tire. However, fire‑fighting units extinguished the flame swiftly, and the runway remained operational after the aircraft was cleared.

Investigators from the aviation safety board are now examining the tire to determine whether manufacturing defects, excessive pressure, or runway conditions contributed to the failure. Alliance Air has temporarily grounded the aircraft and cancelled a connecting service to Prayagraj, offering alternate travel arrangements to affected customers.
