No Fatalities Reported After Massive Fire Engulfs Bilaspur Shelter
A devastating fire broke out at the Atal Aawas shelter in Bilaspur on Sunday night, causing widespread panic among the occupants. The blaze, which started around 1 a.m., swiftly turned the building into a smoky inferno, with flames consuming parked motorcycles and threatening the safety of residents. Despite the chaos, local volunteers organized a rescue operation, employing ropes and clothing to pull people down from higher levels. Their brave actions resulted in the successful evacuation of over seventy-five individuals, many of whom were women, children, and the elderly. Only one person suffered a light injury; there were no deaths. Firefighters contained the fire after a focused effort, and police have started an investigation into the incident, with a short circuit being the preliminary hypothesis.
