No BJP Role in Alleged Halduwani Field Sanitisation, Says State Minister

Dehradun, August 29 — Uttarakhand Minister Khajan Das categorically denied any participation by the Bharatiya Janata Party in the alleged sanitisation of the Halduwani Ramleela arena.

The minister described the Congress allegations as "without merit" and highlighted that the venue has regularly hosted political gatherings for different parties, including events led by senior Congress leaders, without any prior purification controversy.

He referred to the recent rally of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge where, according to local reports, certain religiously charged slogans were raised, upsetting a section of the community. Das clarified that the cleaning was performed by an independent agency and that no BJP operative was found to be linked with the activity.

A preliminary probe, he added, revealed no evidence of BJP involvement. The minister warned that statements aimed at creating communal friction are unacceptable and should be dealt with under the law.

Emphasising Uttarakhand's status as "Devbhoomi", Khajan Das called on all political actors to refrain from politicising religious issues and to work together in preserving social harmony and law and order.
