Former Samajwadi MP ST Hasan couldn’t hide his astonishment at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s abrupt Rajya Sabha ambitions. ‘How can this even happen?’ he wondered aloud during a media interaction in Moradabad.
According to Hasan, JDU’s alliance with BJP spells doom. ‘Look at history – every regional outfit that joined hands with BJP sank without trace. JDU’s realizing too late that BJP will ditch them in the middle of the ocean,’ he warned starkly.
On whispers of Nishant Kumar stepping up as Deputy CM, Hasan dismissed it casually. ‘Deputy CM? That’s just a ceremonial rubber stamp position. No real power there,’ he said, brushing aside the speculation.
Venturing into global politics, Hasan unleashed scathing remarks against US actions. He highlighted the destruction of an Iranian ship carrying civilians, branding America as the ultimate global bully thriving on brute force. ‘The world listens because it has no choice – might makes right,’ he observed ruefully.
Hasan fondly remembered Iran’s loyalty to India. In 1994, amid isolation over Kashmir, Iran was the lone voice of support from the Islamic bloc, even providing discounted oil. ‘We abandoned them in their hour of need, cozying up to Israel. And now, we stay mum on innocent kids dying in wars,’ he criticized, invoking India’s philosophical ideals hypocritically ignored.
Praising Akhilesh Yadav’s empathy for Iran’s plight, Hasan said the SP leader is pained by the blatant disregard for international norms, especially the tragic assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei. ‘The Islamic world mourns. Protests are understandable, but we must channel grief wisely without misguided aggression,’ he counseled, calling for composure amid universal sorrow.
