Nighttime Bus Crash Near Shajapur Causes Multiple Injuries

Late on September 6, a passenger bus traveling from Sironj to Indore crashed on National Highway 52 close to the Thukrana junction in Shajapur district. The driver lost control, and the vehicle struck the concrete divider that runs between the opposite lanes.

More than fifty passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the crash. Emergency responders reported that at least twenty‑nine individuals were injured, with women and children among those affected. Two victims remain in critical condition.

Police constable Santosh Kumar Waghela and his team reached the scene promptly. They called emergency services, and ambulances rushed the injured to the district hospital. The rapid medical response helped limit the severity of injuries.

Sub‑Divisional Magistrate Manisha Vaskel and Tehsildar Gaurav Porewal inspected the situation at the hospital, offering guidance to the medical staff. Two of the seriously wounded were later shifted to a specialized facility in Indore after receiving primary treatment.

Dr. Mena, the civil surgeon, said the driver and his helper suffered grave injuries, whereas most passengers escaped with minor cuts and bruises. All patients are currently under observation and receiving appropriate care.
