New reservoir and three pumping stations unveiled to boost flood protection

Following the inauguration of a newly constructed reservoir, the chief minister highlighted that two new embankments and three additional pumping stations will significantly improve storm‑water evacuation in Agartala. These measures are expected to reduce urban flooding and protect low‑lying neighbourhoods. Authorities have been instructed to keep rescue boats, relief camps, and essential supplies such as food, water, and medicines ready, while maintaining round‑the‑clock monitoring of river levels and embankment conditions.
