New Online Portal Streamlines Services for Millions at Gaya Mela
The district administration of Gaya has rolled out an integrated web portal named “Pinddan Gaya Ji” ahead of the 2026 Pitru Paksha fair. By centralising information that was previously scattered across multiple offices, the portal saves pilgrims the hassle of visiting separate departments. After completing an online registration, devotees gain access to a dashboard that displays the schedule of pind-daan rituals, the names of pandits, and the required offerings. Accommodation listings cover government guest houses, private hotels and the large tent city, complete with room counts and phone numbers. Travel planners can consult up-to-date train departure boards, flight details from the nearest airport, and suggested parking areas, along with fare charts. On the ground, the website lists potable-water points, sanitation blocks, medical camps and police checkpoints with clear directions. An embedded emergency call widget links directly to police, ambulance and medical helplines. A dedicated chat-bot, enhanced with artificial intelligence, fields queries in Hindi, English, Bengali, Urdu and other languages, drawing on the Google Translate engine. The portal also incorporates a digital lost-and-found registry that logs reports of missing or found individuals and sends status alerts to concerned relatives. Authorities appeal to all pilgrims to use the portal and its companion app for a smoother, safer pilgrimage experience.
