New Measures and Equipment to Strengthen Delhi Hospitals Against Dengue Surge
Delhi’s health minister Pankaj Singh announced a set of new measures aimed at fortifying the city’s hospitals ahead of the dengue season. Review and monitoring sessions are being held to map out a detailed response strategy that will soon move from paper to practice.
The health department summoned every medical superintendent and medical director from Delhi’s public hospitals to discuss the plan. Key points included expanding bed capacity, especially ICU beds, and ensuring that critical supplies are stocked.
In addition, the ministry is procuring modern ultrasound and X‑ray machines, along with other diagnostic models, to broaden the range of health checks available to citizens.
Singh assured that the city is already laying the groundwork for dengue and malaria containment, with added beds and emergency facilities. He also dismissed concerns that recent legislative discussions, such as the anti‑paper‑leak bill, could hinder health service delivery.
