The cabinet overhauled the regulatory framework for private universities, reducing the minimum land requirement from 10 acres to 20,000 sq m and removing the previous Rs 5 crore guarantee fund, easing entry for new institutions.
Alongside the education reforms, a direct‑benefit transfer scheme was approved to support poultry farming in hilly districts, benefitting around 2,000 eligible farmers and encouraging additional income generation in remote areas.
