New DGFT Rule Cuts Paperwork for Advance Authorization and EPCG Schemes

In a move aimed at streamlining export procedures, the DGFT has abolished the mandatory submission of physical duty‑payment invoices for exporters using the Advance Authorization (AA) and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) programmes.

The change, effective from August 1, 2026, integrates licence‑based voluntary duty data from Customs and ICEGATE directly into the DGFT’s online workflow. Exporters can now complete the EODC application digitally, with certified payment details visible on the DGFT portal for instant verification.

Regional offices will receive the same digital records, removing the need for manual cross‑checking and accelerating the clearance timeline. The ministry expects faster processing, reduced paperwork, and a more transparent, uniform approach across all DGFT jurisdictions.
