New Data Centre, Website and App Launch at Jharkhand High Court

Ranchi, November 2: A new data centre built inside the Jharkhand High Court campus at a cost of about Rs 35 crore is set to modernise the state's judicial infrastructure. Chief Justice of India Surya Kant will formally open the facility on Monday evening at 7:30 pm.

The inauguration will coincide with the launch of a new High Court website, a mobile application and six digital facilities. The initiatives are intended to make court functioning quicker, safer and more open.

The data centre features high-capacity GPU servers, modern network security systems, uninterrupted power supply, centralised storage and backup facilities. These resources will support the smooth and secure operation of case management information, electronic judicial records and video conferencing.

The centre will also serve as a secure repository for sensitive court documents stored digitally.

Judicial officers will receive tools to make their work more efficient. Dragon Speech Recognition software kits will enable judges to prepare orders, judgments and other important documents through voice dictation. The software functions without an internet connection, saving typing time and protecting confidential material.

In addition, judicial officers will be able to use Supreme Today AI software, which allows them to find earlier judgments, legal precedents and essential references in less time. This is expected to assist legal research and the preparation of draft rulings.

For the public and litigants, online services are also being expanded. Certified copies of orders, judgments and other documents from civil courts in the state can be requested online at any hour, reducing the need for repeated visits to court offices.

Through the new website and app, litigants can monitor their case status, daily orders and hearing lists. Advocates can access a personal cause list by searching with their name or registration number, and they can also save important dates on their mobile devices.

The ceremony will be attended by Chief Justice Surya Kant, Supreme Court Justice S. Chandrashekhar, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice M.S. Sonak and several other senior judges.
