New Authority to Align Minority Schools with NCERT Curriculum
With the Uttarakhand Minority Education Act now in effect, the newly formed State Minority Education Authority will introduce NCERT textbooks across all recognized minority institutions. This shift is expected to standardise academic content, improve learning outcomes, and foster a curriculum that integrates science, technology, and skill‑based education.
The authority’s mandate includes regular audits, teacher training programmes, and a streamlined approval process that eliminates previous ambiguities surrounding Arabic‑Farsi madarsa recognition. By centralising oversight, the government hopes to create an educational environment that is both modern and rooted in Indian cultural values.
Stakeholders, including parents and community leaders, have been invited to provide feedback during the transition period, ensuring that the reforms reflect local needs while meeting national educational benchmarks.
