JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar unleashed a barrage of criticism against West Bengal’s ruling TMC, claiming Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee avoids development discourse to keep voters distracted. In an interview with IANS from Patna, Kumar urged Banerjee to prioritize a concrete development agenda as assembly polls loom.

He lambasted TMC for boycotting the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision of voter rolls, a vital step for fair elections. “TMC treats it as political sabotage instead of supporting electoral purity,” Kumar noted, recalling massive public rejection of similar opposition campaigns by Congress and RJD leaders in Bihar.

This isn’t the first SIR, Kumar reminded, questioning why parties oppose weeding out bogus voters. On the Delhi liquor policy verdict freeing AAP leaders, he advised caution, predicting CBI’s appeal to higher courts as part of ongoing legal proceedings.

Kumar highlighted BJP’s proactive democracy in Assam, where the incumbent seeks fresh endorsement, proving people’s verdict reigns supreme. In Bengal, BJP’s change yatra aims to connect directly with every voter on neglected development fronts, bypassing TMC’s emotional tactics.

Praising Amit Shah’s focus on infiltration during his Bihar tour, Kumar reiterated national resolve against illegal encroachments. He backed JD(U)’s prospects in Patna University polls, foreseeing strengthened student activism. In a pointed attack on Lalu Yadav’s IRCTC case court date, Kumar decried his asset-building politics as a stain on socialism, unfit for his advanced years.
