'Neither in Three Nor Thirteen': Neeraj Kumar on Anant Singh
Patna: JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar has offered his reaction to the Supreme Court's order asking Mokama MLA Anant Singh to surrender. Although he said he had not yet reviewed the complete order, he described the ruling as evidence that integrity remains alive within the nation's institutions.
Referring to the murder of Dularchand Yadav, Neeraj Kumar suggested that the victim's family members might be the ones involved in the matter. He said that accusations were later placed on him and insisted that he had no stake in such issues. “We are neither in three nor thirteen,” he remarked.
He also expressed objection to remarks targeting his child. Neeraj Kumar argued that critics who question the judiciary and warn of threats to democracy had been answered by the courts, where he believes justice is delivered.
On the action against Anant Singh, he stated that a judicial verdict should not be commented on improperly. He rejected any suggestion that the government had shielded anyone, saying such a claim could not be made without evidence. He accused certain elements of attempting to tarnish the government through needless statements.
Discussing the IRCTC money laundering matter, Neeraj Kumar termed the alleged looting of government funds a serious concern. He noted the length of the process and requested that, if the court had issued such directions, a swift final hearing be held and suitable legal action be taken as per the law.
He further commented on the proposed November 1 rally of the Indian alliance in Delhi, noting the capital's key economic role. He asked whether the rally had triggered political fear and said it was not appropriate if traders were gripped by panic, although citizens are free to express their views in a democracy.
Finally, Neeraj Kumar said MLC elections are conducted via ballot papers and claimed that the Congress was losing in Karnataka. He questioned whether targeting the family of PM Modi reflected political propriety and advised Rahul Gandhi to learn about his forefathers' history, adding that he believes in the politics of retribution.
