NDSA Guidelines Drive Water Storage Checks in Godavari Lift Schemes

The chief minister reiterated the need to follow NDSA’s safety guidelines strictly. He pointed out that, despite the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project's extensive network, water is not being stored at key points such as Sundila, Annaram and Medigadda barrages.

He instructed the irrigation department to conduct a factual survey of villages at risk of submergence, and to prepare detailed reports on pending compensation and rehabilitation matters. The CM stressed that quick compensation to affected villages would clear the way for filling reservoirs at Baswapur and Gauravalli projects.
