The Election Commission’s Sunday announcement of assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry has ignited political activity nationwide. BJP President Nitin Nabin promptly asserted on X that the NDA is poised to form governments in all five territories.
‘With poll dates out, our dedicated BJP and NDA cadres are battle-ready,’ Nabin posted, crediting PM Modi’s vision for continuity in Assam and Puducherry and potential upsets in the other three states where public support is surging.
Polling details include April 9 for Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry in one go; West Bengal in two phases on April 23 and 29; and Tamil Nadu on April 23. Counting follows on May 4 across the board.
Model Code of Conduct is now enforced. CEC Gyanesh Kumar noted extensive pre-poll visits by the team, engaging parties, officials from enforcement to police chiefs, and district election officers to iron out logistics.
This optimistic outlook from Nabin underscores BJP’s aggressive strategy. Opposition parties, meanwhile, gear up for fierce contests, promising a vibrant democratic exercise ahead.
