NCB Leads Multi‑Agency Effort to Boost Intelligence Sharing on Narcotics
The National Crime Branch convened a state‑level JCC meeting in Kolkata to tighten the collaborative framework among law‑enforcement agencies combating narcotics trafficking. The gathering, chaired by the NCB Deputy Director (East Zone) and the ANTF Director General, featured inputs from customs intelligence, border security forces, the NIA, West Bengal's Special Investigation Branch, income tax officials, the Drugs Controller and state excise authorities. Attendees reviewed two recent high‑profile NDP cases, exchanged best practices for interdiction, and highlighted red‑flag indicators of covert drug laboratories and precursor chemical diversion. The session aimed to sharpen operational readiness and ensure swift, coordinated action against organized drug syndicates.
