NCP Lawmakers Pressurised by Rohit Pawar Over Delayed CBI Investigation

In a heated press interaction on September 4, Rohit Pawar, representing the NCP, accused the Mahayuti-state administration of deliberately stalling a CBI probe into the September aircraft tragedy that killed former Deputy Chief Minister Ajay Pawar.

He said the party’s forty legislators had formally requested an investigation, submitting a reminder letter that was never acknowledged. "The letter was discarded, showing a lack of respect for the rule of law," he said.

Rohit pointed out that while the government quickly acted on other law‑and‑order cases involving political figures, the Ajay Pawar incident remained untouched, with no FIR lodged despite repeated pleas across three districts.

He also referenced a recent statement by Sunetra Pawar, who asked political leaders not to politicise the issue, and reiterated his personal connection, noting that Ajay Pawar was his uncle. "My family's name is on the line; I seek justice for my uncle and for Maharashtra's people," Rohit asserted.

The leader hinted at forthcoming evidence that could be presented at a postponed press conference, indicating that the NCP is prepared to bring fresh information to light.
