Nationwide Bike Campaign Highlights Modi’s 25 Years in Public Life

The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched a massive two‑leg bike mission to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and his 25‑year tenure in public service. The expedition begins from Modi’s birth village of Wadnagar, Gujarat, where Home Minister Amit Shah will ceremonially flag off the ride at 9:30 a.m.

A mirror convoy will depart from Varanasi at the same hour, with senior leaders including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expected to join.

The combined routes will span approximately 40,000 kilometres, cutting across ten states, 193 districts and more than 1,159 villages. Around 1,000 young participants – 500 heading northward and 500 moving southward – will ride until October 7, the day Modi completes 25 years in public office.

The BJP’s Service Pledge Campaign also incorporates environmental and social initiatives: mass tree‑planting, water‑conservation drives, sanitation projects, anti‑drug campaigns and a TB‑free India push. Interaction with beneficiaries of central schemes, women‑empowerment groups and local communities is a core element of the journey.

Four sub‑routes launched on September 13 from Saurashtra, North, Central and South Gujarat have begun collecting water from rivers like the Narmada, Sabarmati, Mahi, Gomti and others. The water will travel in a ‘Jal Kalash Rath’ to Varanasi for a ceremonial offering at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

After the flag‑off, Shah will travel to Ahmedabad for a series of religious and cultural events, including prayers at Shri Jagannath Temple, participation in a ‘Aashirvaad No Devo’ gathering at Kankaria Lake, and attendance at a Ganesh Utsav organised by the Sardar Patel Service Corps in Vastrapur.
