Nationwide 100‑week youth campaign to combat drug abuse launched by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the start of a sweeping 100‑week "Jan Bhagidari" mission designed to unite India's youth against drug consumption. The "Nasha Mukt Yuva – Vikasit Bharat Sankalp" campaign, announced on X at 11 a.m., aims to create a mass movement that encourages young people to stay drug‑free and act as agents of positive societal change.

The initiative will see over 10,000 sites across the country host weekly events every Sunday. Partners include My Bharat volunteers, National Service Scheme members, schools, colleges, universities, youth clubs, NGOs, and spiritual organisations. Planned activities range from sports tournaments and walkathons to meditation, cultural programs, street plays, discussion panels, art contests, and community service drives.

Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted that parents across India share a common wish: children who are safe, skilled, and proud contributors to the nation's progress. She appealed to citizens to support the youth, trust in their dreams, and become part of the drug‑free movement.
