National Highway Accident in Kanpur Claims Three Lives, Five Injured

A severe road mishap on the national highway in Kanpur district claimed three lives on Monday morning. A Scorpio SUV, heading toward Fatehpur with an estimated eight occupants, collided head‑on with a truck that was parked on the roadway in the Maharajpur locality.

The force of the crash left the Scorpio severely mangled, trapping passengers inside. Rescue teams recovered three bodies, two of whom were children, while five others suffered serious injuries and were taken to Kanshiram Hospital for emergency care.

The incident adds to a string of recent accidents in the region, including a separate case in Etah district where a driver lost his life after a collision with a bull. Police are reviewing traffic camera footage to determine the exact sequence of events.
