National Forest Martyr Day Observed in Dispur as Assam Reinforces Wildlife Safeguards

Dispur turned into a scene of remembrance on September 11 as the state observed National Forest Martyr Day. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led a tribute to the forest officers who lost their lives defending Assam’s forests, wildlife corridors and natural heritage. He announced new measures to boost forest protection, including increased staffing, upgraded surveillance technology and strengthened legal frameworks against forest crimes.
