Palwal witnessed an unprecedented display of devotion to the nation on Thursday when a colossal tricolour—five kilometres long and ten feet wide—was unfurled and paraded across the town. The initiative was led by Haryana’s Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam, who aimed to inspire collective patriotism through a public march.

The route commenced at the Palwal Police Lines and wound its way through approximately twenty stations where citizens, shopkeepers, student groups, teachers and community organisations gathered to welcome the flag. Floral showers, chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and rhythmic drumming filled the air, transforming ordinary streets into a stage for national reverence.

Every demographic was represented: school pupils marched with miniature flags, elders offered solemn salutes, and women—celebrated as the embodiment of maternal strength—joined the procession with flags in hand. Their participation highlighted the universality of respect for the national emblem.
