Commuters on the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor are set to enjoy significantly better connectivity after NCRTC introduced eighteen new daily trips. Ten of these services will run during the morning peak, while eight will operate in the evening, complementing an earlier addition of eight trips last week. The expanded schedule is designed to accommodate the corridor’s growing popularity, which has pushed average daily footfall close to one hundred thousand passengers. With temperatures soaring above 45 degrees, travellers increasingly prefer the air-conditioned trains over congested highways. The initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s recent call to adopt public transport, promising shorter queues, guaranteed seating and faster journeys. NCRTC has stated that passenger comfort remains its top priority and that further frequency increases will be considered as demand grows. The corridor already links key hubs in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut, offering a modern, reliable and eco-friendly travel option for the entire National Capital Region.
