In a series of high-level deliberations in the national capital, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday sought Union government intervention to fast-track funding and clearances for his state’s critical initiatives. His meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah zeroed in on specific state concerns, including stalled and proposed projects requiring central nod.
Official releases confirm Naidu’s appeal for robust support to propel Andhra’s development trajectory. The Chief Minister later posted online about covering key matters linked to the state’s advancement.
Shifting gears to fiscal matters, Naidu conferred with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, articulating the need for prioritized central assistance and budgetary allocations for Andhra’s growth engines. The TDP’s pivotal role in the NDA coalition amplifies the weight of these requests.
Separately, TDP representatives thanked Steel Minister HD Kumaraswamy for aiding the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant’s remarkable recovery. Naidu attributed RINL’s profitability and full-capacity operations to a synergy of central finances, state backing, and employee resolve—a testament to effective public-private collaboration.
Calling it a ‘milestone moment,’ Naidu appealed for sustained central support to fortify RINL’s future resilience and expansion.
Naidu’s final engagement was with Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal, spotlighting Andhra’s waste management revolution. The state is advancing towards zero-landfill through Swachh Andhra, with a Rs 276 crore action plan under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0.
He sought Rs 105 crore in central funding to realize this vision across urban bodies, detailing comprehensive strategies to eliminate landfills and enhance sustainability. Naidu’s Delhi diplomacy reflects strategic alliance-building for Andhra’s holistic progress, blending economic revival with environmental goals.
