Nagaur By‑Election Result Contested Over Alleged Fake Voting

The Nagaur Lok Sabha by‑election, held on October 6, concluded with a decisive win for the BJP’s Devashish Sharma, who beat AIUDF’s Badruddin Ajmal by 1,42,224 votes. However, AIUDF leader Aminul Islam has challenged the legitimacy of the result, alleging that the BJP engaged in systematic vote manipulation. Islam pointed to the presence of 16‑20 agents at individual polling stations and the use of proxy votes cast in the names of Muslims working outside the state. He further claimed that a substantial block of one to two lakh votes was fabricated to favor the BJP candidate. The allegations were voiced at a rally in Samaguri, where AIUDF supporters thanked voters for their participation. No third‑party verification of these claims has been provided, and the matter remains a point of contention between the two parties.
