Mumbai Police Arrest Bangalore IT Engineer in Ayushman Khurana Threat Case
The Mumbai Crime Branch has taken a decisive step in the Ayushman Khurana intimidation case by apprehending a 30‑year‑old IT engineer from Bangalore. Vaibhav Chandr Mishra, originally from Darbhanga, Bihar, is accused of sending a series of threatening messages to the Bollywood actor via Instagram.
An audio recording released by investigators captures a voice that claims to be Anil Pandit, the younger brother of criminal figure Lawrence Bishnoi. The speaker warns Khurana that a violent episode similar to the one that involved Tiger Shroff could be replicated if the actor does not engage in dialogue.
The threats are specific, mentioning Khurana’s residential address in Mumbai, a house in Chandigarh, and even the registration number of his motorcycle. The caller alleges an earlier phone call went unanswered and pushes for a settlement, threatening severe retaliation otherwise.
Technical tracing of the Instagram accounts led police to Mishra’s location in Bangalore, where he was arrested without incident. The investigation now focuses on uncovering any additional conspirators and verifying the authenticity of the audio through forensic analysis.
The case underscores growing concerns over celebrity safety in the digital age, prompting calls for stricter monitoring of online harassment and coordinated security protocols within the entertainment industry.
