Mumbai Court Orders Fresh CBI Probe into Disha Salian Death, Father Seeks Compensation

The Bombay High Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to continue a fresh probe into the June 2020 death of Disha Salian, the former manager of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The court also instructed the CBI to register a formal FIR, stressing that no individual can be declared an accused until solid evidence is presented.

Satish Salian, the grieving father, welcomed the court’s order but used the moment to demand a hefty compensation of 500 crore rupees from Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray and former state home minister Anil Deshmukh. Salian claims the two politicians made defamatory statements on social media that have damaged his family’s reputation.

He also announced that a fresh defamation notice will be served to Thackeray before he proceeds to the court, referring to the notice as “Matoshri.” The father has asked for police protection during the visit, describing the situation as sensitive and potentially volatile.

The CBI’s renewed investigation arrives six years after the accident was initially labeled an “accidental death.” The case has drawn significant public attention, especially after Sushant Singh Rajput’s own death occurred days later.
