Multiple Fires Hit Delhi This Week, All Reported Without Fatalities

Delhi experienced a series of fire emergencies this week, beginning with a three‑storey garment shop in Purani Seelampur that ignited at about 08:21 a.m. on August 30. Four fire engines arrived, navigated cramped lanes, and deployed five high‑pressure hoses to extinguish the blaze. The fire was quickly contained and no one was hurt.

Later that night, a fierce fire erupted in the timber market adjacent to the Capital Park Metro station, engulfing the first to third floors. More than twenty fire trucks were mobilised, and after a prolonged effort the flames were finally subdued, again with zero casualties.

Earlier in the month, a tragic incident in Raghubir Nagar claimed the lives of two e‑rickshaw drivers who were charging portable batteries in a rented flat. That episode stands out as the only fatal fire in recent Delhi reports, underscoring the need for stricter safety measures around battery charging stations.
