Multi‑Billion Rupee Investment Poised to Boost Telecom Ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh

The Gwalior Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) is emerging as a catalyst for a robust telecom ecosystem in central India. Conceived under the guidance of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Sindhia, the zone will consolidate more than 24 manufacturing units that produce telecom hardware, components, and advanced semiconductor devices.

Key financial milestones include a full‑fledged ₹493 crore central grant for the first‑phase infrastructure and a land grant of 170 acres from the Madhya Pradesh government. Investor outreach in three major metros secured commitments totalling over ₹5,500 crore, which are projected to create an estimated 18,000 jobs across manufacturing, research, and ancillary services. A formal MoU signed in July 2026 between the Department of Telecommunications and the state government sets the timeline for operationalisation, with the inaugural land‑handing ceremony scheduled for 29 October alongside Home Minister Amit Shah.
