MP Saugat Roy criticises sugar price surge and NCPI notice, calls for decisive action

In a separate interview, Saugat Roy dismissed the remarks of senior official Kailash Vijayvargiya on rising sugar and onion prices as "nonsensical." Roy argued that the government's decision to accelerate sugar exports has pushed domestic prices sky‑high, and urged the administration to implement a comprehensive price‑control framework. He also expressed displeasure over a notice served to NCP members, stating that the matter belongs in the courts and should be addressed by senior party leaders such as Kalya Banerjee.
