State Employees Get 2% DA Hike; Pensioners Also Benefit
Madhya Pradesh employees are set for a financial boost after the state government approved a 2 percent hike in dearness allowance. The decision was announced by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on X and applies to employees and officers across the state.
The increase will be effective from January. To settle the dues, the government will pay arrears for the period from January to September in three equal monthly installments.
The enhanced allowance will be included in the October salary and paid in cash, with the disbursement taking place in November.
Pensioners are not left out. A 2 percent DA increase has been sanctioned for them, to be effective from July 2026. The government reiterated that it is dedicated to safeguarding the interests of both working and retired employees, especially as prices continue to rise.
Similar steps were recently taken by the central government, which raised DA for its own staff. Officials explained that the state adjustment is based on the All India Consumer Price Index formula, signaling a practice of regular revisions tied to inflation movements.
Employees across education, health, police and revenue departments will receive the revised DA. The financial impact on the state treasury is being managed through the installment plan for arrears.
The finance department is likely to issue detailed official orders soon. These will outline exact rates and implementation steps to ensure smooth payment across all departments, the chief minister said.
