Investigation reveals motorcycle used in multiple burglaries in Palam area

A detailed probe by Delhi Police has uncovered that a single motorcycle served as the primary transport for a series of burglaries in the Palam Village jurisdiction.

Between early August and mid‑August, investigators sifted through about 700 CCTV recordings from the neighbourhood. The video evidence consistently showed two men arriving on the same bike, executing swift break‑ins, and fleeing with valuables.

The suspects, identified as Mohammad Areef and Irshad (also called Bhanu), were later traced to a hideout in Majupur where the motorcycle, itself reported stolen from Keshav Puram, was hidden.

During interrogation, Areef admitted that the bike enabled the duo to reach multiple targets across Palam, facilitating the theft of jewellery, cash and electronic devices. The police also recovered a domestic pistol and lock‑picking tools from his possession.

The operation culminated in the arrests of both men, along with two additional accomplices, bringing an end to the spate of crimes that had alarmed local residents.
