From the banks of Saryu in Ayodhya to the snowy expanses of Russia, the Ram Mandir’s aura is spreading far and wide. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision has turned the city into a beacon of cultural revival, and now Moscow gears up for a spectacular Ram Leela on February 20.
Drawing inspiration from Ayodhya’s recent Deepotsav, this production symbolizes deepening India-Russia friendship. The Indian Embassy and JNCC are key collaborators, with local Russian talents stepping into iconic characters: Evgeniy as Ram, Daria embodying Sita, Murat as the loyal Lakshman, and Dimitri as the mighty Hanuman.
At the helm is ‘Disha’, the Russo-Indian friendship organization led by Dr. Rakeshwar Singh. Through plays, events, and workshops, they’ve nurtured bilateral cultural exchanges for years. Singh highlights Ram Leela’s global appeal: a narrative of dharma that resonates universally, sparking excitement in Russia.
Yogi’s governance has elevated Ayodhya’s Deepotsav to international fame, with lamp-lit spectacles drawing global admiration. A Russian troupe, invited to perform there, returned inspired to host their own version in the Russian capital.
Echoing past glories, this follows the 1960s tradition when Soviet thespian Gennady Pechnikov enthralled Moscow with Ram Leela. Ambassador Vinay Kumar’s support underscores official endorsement.
Expect grandeur: ornate sets, vibrant attire, and soulful melodies. The audience, blending Russians, Indians, and elites, will witness a cultural symphony that fosters enduring people-to-people connections and celebrates shared human values.
