Morning Vedic Yajna and Drone Water Sprays Mark Kumbabhishekam Celebration
The early hours of July 5 witnessed a seamless blend of ancient ritual and modern technology at the Arulumigu Subramanyam Swami Temple. A fifth‑stage Vedic Yajna was lit at 4 a.m., setting the stage for a series of ceremonial events that unfolded over the next two hours.
By 5:35 a.m., beautifully decorated kalashas entered the temple complex, escorted by traditional musicians and torch‑bearers. The pinnacle of the ceremony arrived at 5:57 a.m., when sacred water was poured over the airborne throne of Subramanyam Swami, flanked by his divine companions Valli and Devseena. Further sanctifications took place on the Rajagopuram’s kalashas and within the sanctum, where the main deity and accompanying family gods were bathed.
A highlight of the day was the deployment of three drones that dispersed holy water over the assembled 5,000‑plus devotees, complemented by a ground sprinkler system. The crowd erupted in chants of “Arohaara! Arohaara!” as the water droplets fell, creating a vivid tableau of devotion and reverence.
