Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has taken proactive steps to oversee the wheat procurement process, inaugurating a control room right at his official residence. Starting April 9, the initiative aims to address longstanding concerns over delays and fair pricing for the state’s vital crop.

During an online discussion with representatives from farmer unions and voluntary groups, the CM outlined comprehensive plans. Procurement centers will feature help desks, clear signage via pamphlets and hoardings, and strict oversight from multiple levels. ‘Our priority is small farmers who form the backbone of our agriculture,’ Yadav affirmed.

At Rs 2,585 per quintal as MSP, coupled with a Rs 40 bonus, farmers stand to earn Rs 2,625. District control rooms complement the CM’s hub for 24/7 vigilance. Past postponements, triggered by adverse weather like unseasonal rains and hail, had sparked political rows, especially from Congress.

Yadav appealed for NGO support and instructed all district heads to ensure top-notch facilities. This structured approach signals the BJP government’s resolve to bolster farmer confidence and streamline operations across the wheat belt.
