Modi Welcomes Stronger India‑Uzbekistan Ties After Tashkent Meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm reception in Lucknow following his recent meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent. Sharma praised the summit, stating that the dialogue has paved the way for deeper economic and strategic cooperation between the two nations.

The BJP leader highlighted potential projects in trade, energy and connectivity, describing the outcome as a "significant boost" to bilateral relations.

While addressing the media, Sharma also reiterated the party’s criticism of Akhilesh Yadav’s handling of the JPNIC venture and the expressway controversies, positioning the government’s development agenda as a counter‑point to opposition rhetoric.

He concluded by urging the opposition to focus on constructive governance instead of politicising tragedies such as the Ankit Baliyan murder case.
