Modi Shares Sacred Sanskrit Verse Honoring Lord Krishna

Alongside his festive greeting, Modi posted a revered Sanskrit shloka: “वसुदेवसुतं देवं कंसचाणूरमर्दनम्। देवकीपरमानन्दं कृष्णं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम्॥”.

He provided the Hindi translation, describing Krishna as the son of Vasudeva, the destroyer of Kansa and Chanura, and the supreme teacher who bestows ultimate joy to Mother Devaki. The verse originates from the first line of the Krishna‑ashtakam composed by the great philosopher‑saint Adi Shankaracharya.
