Modi Presents Kesar Mangoes to UAE Leader, Farmers Elated

Returning from a productive five-day foreign trip, Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought back more than diplomatic wins—he carried a message of pride for Gujarat's farmers. During his meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, PM Modi gifted him Gujarat's celebrated Kesar mangoes, instantly lifting spirits in Valsad and throughout the mango-growing belt. The gesture has been hailed as both a cultural bridge and an economic opportunity. Farmers in the region, long known for exporting the premium Hapus variety, now see a promising future for Kesar mangoes on the global stage. Rajesh Patel, a local grower, called the gift a representation of Gujarat's soil and the farmers' dedication. He expressed hope that this move will open doors to Gulf markets and increase demand for the variety. Another farmer, Dharmendra Singh Chauhan, noted that Kesar mangoes are not only delicious but also nutritionally rich and carry a GI tag. He praised the Prime Minister for consistently showcasing India's traditional products abroad. With India being the world's largest mango producer, such initiatives could significantly enhance export volumes and farmer incomes.
