Modi Marks 25 Years as Head of Government, Praised by State Leaders
Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated a significant political landmark on October 7, marking 25 years since he first assumed a chief ministerial role in Gujarat. The milestone was formally recognized by the Union Cabinet, which passed a resolution honoring his long‑standing leadership.
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, praised Modi’s tenure, noting that the past quarter‑century has been defined by relentless public service, decisive action, and a steadfast "nation first" mindset. He asserted that Modi’s vision has propelled India toward higher standards of dignity, pride and global relevance.
The CM’s video message highlighted the transformative impact of Modi’s policies on technology, digital governance, and infrastructure, citing World Bank data that shows a sharp decline in extreme poverty from 16.2% in 2011‑12 to 2.3% in 2022‑23. He also pointed to India’s enhanced international profile, stronger diplomatic ties and a pivotal role in the Global South.
Yogi concluded by congratulating the Prime Minister on 25 exemplary years of governance and wishing him continued success in serving the nation.
