Modi Links By‑Election Victories to Strong Public Mandate for NDA
On October 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the X platform to acknowledge the public’s role in the BJP’s recent by‑election triumphs. He framed the wins as a testament to the trust Indians place in the BJP‑NDA’s agenda of efficient administration.
He pointed to three pivotal contests – Nagal Lok Sabha seat in Assam and the West Bengal assembly constituencies of Nandigram and Rajarhat – as clear indicators of voter alignment with the coalition’s policies.
Modi congratulated each successful BJP aspirant and highlighted the relentless effort of party volunteers. He also sent congratulations to the All India NR Congress for its victory in the Thattanchavadi seat of Puducherry, an important ally within the NDA framework.
The Rajarhat assembly seat saw the BJP candidate achieve a historic tally of 129,914 votes, leading by over 75,000 votes. In Nandigram, the party maintained its dominance, while the Nagal seat in Assam added another layer to the BJP’s strong foothold in the North‑East.
Concluding his statement, Modi said the fresh mandate will reinforce the government’s commitment to delivering public welfare and fostering a better, more prosperous future for the nation.
